The Australian Government continues to work closely with all institutions, including religious institutions, to promote children’s safety and wellbeing.
The Government expects all institutions to respond to each of the Royal Commission’s recommendations and indicate what action they will take. Where institutions decide not to accept a recommendation, the Government expects they should state so and why.

Institution Responses
In its Final Report, the Royal Commission made 12 recommendations that direct the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference to request Holy See action or consideration.
In response to these recommendations, the Government has been provided with the observations of the Holy See which was provided to the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference.
